If you go to Guadalupe, the first thing I recommend is to go and buy the monastery tickets, as they are limited, you cannot catch them online and you can only see them with guide. It takes an hour and it’s essential if you go to Guadalupe to see it, it’s so nice that they don’t let you take pictures inside. To buy them, go up the steps of the square and go to the only door on the left.
You can go every day from 9: 30-13: 00 and 15: 30-18: 00. Prices: 5 euros general fee, 4 retirees and 2.50 children up to 14 years.Once you book, I recommend you take a walk in the village before or after your visit to the monastery and see:
- Plaza de Santa María de Guadalupe
I also recommend going at Christmas also because the lighting makes this place even more magical:
Plaza de Guadalupe with Christmas lights
Guadalupe at night at Christmas - Altar de la Virgen de Guadalupe: Once in the square, you have the option to go in and see for free the Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of Hispanity and who has the particularity of being a figure of color, of Palestinian origin. This virgin is mainly for a sighting that took place in 1326 in the village of Guadalupe.
The altar inside the truth is very nice: - Monastery inside: this is the only place inside where I was allowed photos and it’s very nice, but the rooms inside are the best you can see, they have no waste.
- Jewish and Arches: If you take a walk in the village, both to the right and to the left of the square you can see beautiful arches and the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter. To the right of the square you will see the Arc de las Eas and to the right the Arc de Sevilla:
Arco de Sevilla, Guadalupe (Spain)
And that’s it, I hope you liked the post, thank you very much!
