The Turda Salinas, located in the city of Turda, in the Transylvania region of Romania, are one of the most impressive and visited salt mines in the world. The extraction of salt in Turda began around 1075, although the mine itself is not mentioned until 1271. Today, the Salinas de Turda have become an underground amusement park and a wellness center, attracting tourists from all over the world.

The Turda Salinas are a 50-minute drive from Cluj- Napoca. It can also be reached by public transport, taking a mini-bus from Piata Mihai Viteazu in Cluj to the centre of Turda, and then a taxi or bus 17 to the salinas.
