History and Architecture of Perouges
Founded in the 12th century, Perouges has preserved its authenticity over the centuries. The city is surrounded by two walled enclosures and has paved streets, wooden-lined houses and a fortified church. Every year, in early June, the Medieval Fair is held, an event that transports visitors to the medieval era.
Gastronomy of Perudes

How to get to Perouges
Pérouges is a 40-minute drive from Lyon. Exit 7 of the A42 motorway will take you directly to the city. Car access within the medieval city is not allowed, so you will have to leave your car in one of the car parks enabled near the entrance.
I particularly arrived in Perouges by train from Lyon, going to the station Meximieux – Perouges, but the train station is 35 minutes walk from the medieval citadel.
